We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Proud NJCU Alumni Spotlight Series. This is a new initiative that celebrates the incredible accomplishments of our alumni who are making a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

This series is designed to inspire our students, connect our alumni, and showcase the power of an NJCU education.

Our first spotlight features Samia Chery-Geffrard '12, an outstanding leader, educator, and trailblazer. Samia currently serves as the Vice President of FG Management Group, where she provides vital resources for the Military and Veteran community, and is also the founding school leader of KIPP URA in Newark, NJ. In 2002, KIPP Newark first opened its doors in Newark's South Ward as a single class of 80 fifth graders and has since grown to teach over 5,266 students in grades K-12 in Newark. Located in Newark's North Ward, KIPP URA currently educates 103 kindergarten and first grade students and will expand to serve students in grades K-4.

Samia's journey reminds us of the transformative power of education, hard work, and community. Her dedication to education and her community exemplifies what it means to be a proud NJCU alumna.
