Admission Requirements for Military-Affiliated Students:

  • Official College Transcript(s)
    Applicants who previously attended a college or university must submit official transcripts for each institution. Please send transcripts directly to NJCU's Admissions Office. 

    In addition:
    • Service members and veterans using federal educational benefits must submit their Joint Services Transcript (JST) electronically via .
    • Air Force personnel should submit transcripts from the Community College of Air Force (CCAF) instead of the JST.

  • Personal Essay
    The Admissions Office requests that you write and submit an essay, 250 words minimum, explaining your aspiration and motivation for attending NJCU.
  • Official Test Scores (Optional)
    Applicants may submit official test scores for potential transfer credit:
    • Department of Defense Standardized Test (DSST) – use institution code 8427
    • College Board Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), International Baccalaureate (IB) – use school code 2516

Once an application is complete, the Admissions Office will begin the review process.  Applicants will be notified of the admission decision accordingly. We appreciate your patience as we ensure a comprehensive and fair evaluation.
