JERSEY CITY, N.J. | New Jersey State Senator Angela V. McKnight (LD31) will host a roundtable discussion on the importance of cursive writing and early literacy at (NJCU) on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 10-11:30 a.m.
The event, titled "Let's Revive Cursive Handwriting," will take place in the Gothic Lounge of Hepburn Hall, located at 2039 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City. Senator McKnight will moderate the discussion, which will bring together community leaders, educators, and advocacy groups to address this critical educational topic.
The roundtable will focus on three key areas: the health and cognitive benefits of cursive reading and writing, the importance of achieving literacy by third grade, and strategies for reintegrating cursive writing instruction into New Jersey schools.
The discussion is open to all students, educators, parents, and community members. Light refreshments will be served.
