#NJCUGivingTuesday was a monumental success on December 1, 2020 as the NJCU community displayed its profound generosity by shattering the #GivingTuesday record with 211 donors contributing $54,737 — 36.8 percent higher than the starting goal of raising $40,000. All proceeds benefited the NJCU Fund, which ÃÛÌÒtvs our students’ immediate and greatest needs. The $54,737 included two $10,000 matching gifts from NJCU Foundation Board Directors Stephen Hess and Edward P. O’Connor.
The 2020 outcome resulted in a 92.6% increase in total gifts and a 137% rise in individual donors participating. In 2019, #NJCUGivingTuesday resulted in 89 donors giving $28,417.
In 2020, the NJCU community has committed more than $100,000 during two #GivingTuesday action days. In May 2020, 237 donors gave $49,935 to aid students in need during the #GivingTuesdayNow campaign for COVID-19 relief.
