Mission Statement

The Center for Student Persistence and Success (CSPS) at New Jersey City University empowers students to thrive academically, personally, and professionally through comprehensive ÃÛÌÒtv services, leadership development opportunities, and inclusive programming. CSPS is committed to fostering student engagement, removing barriers to success, and building vibrant campus communities that celebrate diversity and promote belonging. CSPS is dedicated to meeting students where they are, addressing the barriers they face, and providing the ÃÛÌÒtv they need to achieve their educational goals.

Vision 

Our center aims to serve as a catalyst for student achievement by providing targeted resources for first-generation college students, commuter populations, and all students navigating their academic journey. Through evidence-based programming, collaborative partnerships, and student-centered advocacy, we cultivate leadership skills, strengthen peer connections, and create pathways to graduation and beyond.

  • First Generation Student Center - The First-Generation Student Center at provides purposeful ÃÛÌÒtv and engaging services to create an equitable environment for first-generation students. The goal of the Center is to promote first-generation student success through learning and co-curricular experiences that cultivate a sense of belonging and encourage holistic student development.
