A few years ago, I wrote to Gmail’s feedback (when there was still a link at the top of the page — yes, I am a proud nerd!) to ask them to open their system to other parties’ domains. The point for such a move would have been to open the mail market the same way they did with AdSense on personal pages/blogs, allowing ISP’s, communities, and small companies for example to offer a co-branded version of Gmail to their members, and for Google to expand their reach in an even more viral way than what they were very successfully doing already.
Well, it took a few years, but finally, Google is offering a “hosted” version of their email, calendar, and chat to people like me. And it makes me very happy of course.
So, for those who don’t know it yet, izi.jp is now powered by Gmail. (If you want an account, please put a comment below.)
