A little known fact about camera/printer/scanner/copier manufacturer Canon.

The company name is actually spelled “KIYANON” (????) in Japanese. Not “KYANON” (????), as I thought until two days ago, and definitely not “KANON” (???). And anyone can actually verify this from their homepage.

In Japanese, there is the sound “KA” (?) which is kinda heavy and straight forward, and the sound “KYA” (??) which is a bit softer (and somehow more subtle). Well, it’s neither: “Canon” is pronounced “KI-YA-NO-N”.
